Google Hangouts' glitchy delays... lend an air of menace to the proceedings. Hangout's grainy live video feed also serves Longitude well: with truth and clarity so variable, there should be more than a little static to the story... it's great to see socially-engaged theater exploring the backroom dealings of water commodity profiteering.
- DJ Pangburn, Vice
On the Periphery is powerful theatre providing an opportunity for us comfortable Americans to connect with the millions of immigrants reaching for the dream of safety, the prospect of work and acceptance in a new land.
- Steve Murray, Broadway World
“with digital projections by Erin Gilley as good as I’ve witnessed anywhere (including a speeding subway train sequence so real it made me mildly queasy)”
- Woody Weingarten For All Events
By the end of the night, three hours had whizzed by, and we — the hoi polloi “butter and egg men” in the audience, as the singer put it — were happy suckers, merrily drawn into the action. The performances were varied, the participants skilled, the whole endeavor finely tuned and imaginative......... If we drove home in the rain, I don’t remember. - Liat Clark, Wired
Remember that thing I mentioned about the unexpected, and it potentially stomping all over your comfort zone? Well, here you go. Provocative, indeed. 20 minutes of squirmish theater never felt so odd and well executed. Same too with the superb performances. [Turning Tricks]
- Clinton Stark, The Stark Insider
Think of it [Kim Deal] as a play set at a rock concert.
- Rob Harvilla, East Bay Express
[In Rhino] Erin Gilley is poignantly comic as the woman whose cat is trampled and sharp as the BBC reporter.
- Rob Hurwitt, San Francisco Chronicle
In [Making Noise Quietly] we see how, in some out-of-the-way corner of daily life, the basic decency of human instinct reasserts itself and the whole social project is again, quietly, reborn.
- Rob Avila, San Francisco Bay Guardian
[Lily's Revenge] is one of the rowdiest and most raucous pieces of epic theatre you're ever likely to see.
- George Heymont, My Cultural Landscape & Huffington Post
[In Equus] Gilley's magnetic direction of Boxcar's tightly focused acting ensemble pays handsome dividends on Olivero's wooden-planked set.
